Goole manager for the 3rd season, the first season finishing 7th and last season only missing the play off places in the last couple of weeks following a number of injuries to key player.  This season Nigel has decided to be full time manager and not player manager as in previous seasons.  During his playing career Nigel played for Farsley Celtic, Selby Town, Osset Town, Thackley, Glasshoughton and Harrogate Railway when he played in the Bristol City F.A. Cup game for the club.  Nigel considers one of his greatest achievements as being the only player to get the better of assistant manager Mick Norbury whilst they were both at Osset Town

                

                                  Mick Norbury Assistant Manager

                                                                                                         Mick Is well known in the footballing worold and has played at clubs of all levels including Cambridge United, Preston North End, Doncaster Rovers, Halifax Town, Telford and Gainsborough. This is Mick’s first managerial post and has been at the club for three years. During his early playing career Mick was a trialist at Livepool and was there alongside the likes of Dean Saunders, Ian Rush, Jon Barnes and Robbie Fowler. Mick had two games in the reserve team and partnered Ronnie Rosential in attack.

Colin is the man with the magic sponge at the VPG, previously with Goole Town and North Ferriby United.

Last Season’s “Safe Hands” winner in the Unibond South Division is now in his second season at the club. Previous clubs include Halifax, Bradford Park Avenue and Garforth. It was whilst he was at Barnsley that Craig played in the F A Youth Cup. He has also represented England at 16/17 year level and played in two games against Ireland and Wales.


                         Tom Osbourne Goalkeeper

                   

Previous clubs include Selby Town and Dinnington. He managed footballing successes at both clubs with him winning the Under 19 League with Selby and the North East Counties Division One Championship with Dinnington. Tom is a student at Sheffield Hallam and has attained a 1st class honours degree in sport development. Tom’s plans are to either be a sporting coach or move into teaching. Tom also had success with the West Riding County Team where he played at Elland Road in the winning side at the Counties Cup Final.

Joined the club in August 2008 his previous clubs include Frickley, AFC Barnsley and Worsborough Bridge.  Brought in to bolster the defense Adam has proved a valuable addition to the squad this season.

Defender brought in for the 2008 season, previously with Pontefract Collieries, whilst there he played in the County Senior Cup Final.  Luke memories of football include playing against the England legend Chris Waddle.

Previous clubs include Harrogate Railway, Harrogate Town, and Farsley and has had success with both Harrogate clubs.  With Town he won the West Riding Cup and with Railway was part of their F.A. Cup triumphant side that made hit through to the 2nd round game against Bristol City.  Other success came in the Great Britain Catholic School side when he played in the World Cup Final against France and won a silver medal.  James brother presently plays for Doncaster Rovers.

Captain for the second season and a post office manager that has played for Hallam, Osset Albion, AFC Barnsley and Denaby where he has the inauspicious record of scoring the last goal for Denaby United before they closed down for good.  Popular character that has received player of the year awards  and players’ player of the year awards at AFC Barnsley.

Nicky’s joined Goole after an eventful early footballing life. He started with a 4 year football scholarship in Florida U.S.A and whilst playing for Lynn University he won the Conference Championship.  Unfortunately his 4 year scholarship was cut short following an injury that required an operation.  It was on this news that he came back to the UK.  Since then Nicky has played for Maltby Main and Brodsworth before joining us.

A winger brought into the club for the 2008 season who was previously with Doncaster, Retford and Rossington. Whilst at Doncaster Willie played in the Youth Team and took part in the F.A Youth Cup.

Experienced football league player with a string of top clubs to his name including, York City, Sunderland, Leyton Orient, Scarborough, Halifax Town and Mansfield. Whilst at Sunderland played in the final season at Roker Park in the reserves alongside the likes of Paul Stewart, Nial Quinn and Michael Bridges. After moving around several clubs he suffered an injury at Mansfield which resulted in him not been offered a contract, it was at this point that Chris took the opportunity to move abroad and this resulted in him playing for Nykoping in Sweden. Later he returned back to England and has found his way to Goole A.F.C. Chris holds the record for the fastest goal in a play off final when he scored for Orient in 27 seconds.
